Fostering is FREE!

We supply everything! The food, the crate, the leash, the collar, the ID tag, we pay for all the vet costs. Fostering for us doesn't cost you a PENNY. We have a wonderful support system in place and are here to help you every step of the way.... we even give you a "foster binder" filled with helpful information that is right at your fingertips....so no experience is necessary! What a super way to change the life of an animal and feel great about yourself in the process. Attend monthly adoption events and make some friends. We have dogs of all shapes and sizes and will find a foster that fits your home and lifestyle. Just ask! info@blackdogsecondchance.org

Commonly asked Questions....

Do I have to pay for vetting of the dogs I foster?
Nope! BDSC covers all vetting expenses. We have specific vets that we work with and they bill the rescue. We even pay for all the supplies! However, fostering with us will cost you a smile... when you know you saved the life of a dog.

Am I going to know where my foster dog ends up?
YES! You can choose to take an active role in the adoption of your dog- you can even do the home visit yourself to make sure that you are certain your foster will be going to a loving forever home that is a suitable match! It's a great feeling to know that you helped save a dog's life!

Where do these dogs come from?
Most of our dogs come from owner surrenders, overcrowded, local shelters and out of state shelter that still use the barbaric method of GASSING. Dogs that need our help are the ones we take in!

Do you only rescue BLACK DOGS?
Although we have a special fondness for the black ones, we don't discriminate--- we take in any breed, any size, any age that needs our help! We also take in the occasional cat and other small animal, depending upon the circumstance!

I already have a dog, is that okay?
Yes, that's absolutely fine! Most of our fosters have dogs of their own. We make sure that your foster is going to fit into your home, and all of our dogs are healthy upon placement into the foster home.
