Each month we will feature a different story from one of the live's of our rescue pets.
Sweetie, oh so Sweet!
Her mom was adopted, now it's her turn!
Sweetie is just that, Sweet! She is gentle and kind. She is a special needs dog, so for the right home, we are willing to waive her adoption fee. We are even going to send her off with an obedience coupon, that you can redeem and use towards her free obedience class, we think that she is THAT special to us! :)
Sweetie was surrendered to a high kill shelter with her mom, Molly. She was very bonded to her, but now that her mom has been adopted,we are working with a dog behaviorist to get her to come out of her shell and feel more confident in new situations. It will be a long road for Sweetie, but we never give up on a dog once they are in our rescue, so we will continue on that journey with her. If you think you have a gentle hand and quiet home, and would like to help us with her journey and continue her dog training classes after she makes some progress, please contact us! She is just the sweetest little thing and ever so gentle- she just needs to learn to trust that big, scary world out there.
Sweetie is only 35 pounds, but looks bigger in her pictures. She will need to go to a family with a secured fenced yard, no exceptions there.
Sweetie is very shy and it will take her a while to trust her new surroundings. A gentle touch is necessary in order to adopt this girl. If you think you have what it takes to help this girl come out of her shell and flourish, please contact us. She is a diamond in the rough and waiting for her second chance at life.
(the first three pictures are her, very frightened at the kill shelter she came from; the last picture is her, sitting "safely" in her crate at her foster mom's house)
